The 4×4 Life is published by Leonidas Business LLC. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the4x4life.com, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to read this site. Information is collected in three ways:

• Analytics. This site runs on the WordPress.com platform and uses its built-in statistics service, provided by Automattic. It records aggregate information such as page views, referring sites, approximate geographic region, browser, and device type. We use it to understand which articles are read.
• Contact form. If you send us a message, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit, along with technical metadata used for spam filtering.
• Comments. If you leave a comment, we receive your name, email address, comment text, and IP address. Comment avatars are served by Gravatar, which may receive a hashed version of your email address.

Cookies

This site sets cookies necessary for basic operation, for remembering comment details you have entered, and for the analytics described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site remains readable without them.

Advertising

This site does not currently display third-party advertising and does not run advertising cookies or ad-personalization tracking. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any advertising is served, and the advertising partners and their data practices will be named here.

How we use information

We use the information above to operate and improve the site, respond to messages, moderate comments, and measure readership in aggregate. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers described in this policy or where required by law.

Data retention

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognized and threaded. Contact form submissions are retained as long as needed to handle the inquiry. Aggregate analytics are retained by the platform provider under its own retention schedule.

Your choices

You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask that it be corrected or deleted, by writing to info@the4x4life.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the General Data Protection Regulation. We honor those requests regardless of where you are located.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Third-party links

Articles link to outside sources, including government agencies, manufacturers, and news organizations. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date above.
