The 4×4 Life is published by Leonidas Business LLC. This page describes how we report, source, and correct what we publish.

What we cover

The 4×4 Life covers outdoor recreation and the rules that govern it: hunting and fishing regulations, public land and access, trucks and off-road travel, firearms law and safety, and outdoor safety. Our emphasis is on what changed, who decided it, and what it means for people who spend time outdoors.

Sourcing

We report from primary sources wherever possible: state wildlife and parks agencies, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, NHTSA, state legislatures, and court records. Factual claims that a reader could reasonably challenge are linked to the source they came from. Where we cite another news organization, we say so and link to the original.

Independence

No one pays for coverage on this site. We do not accept payment, products, or services in exchange for favorable articles, and we do not publish sponsored content presented as editorial. If an article ever involves a financial relationship, that relationship is disclosed in the article itself.

Product references

When we reference specific vehicles, gear, or equipment, it is in the context of reporting: a recall, a regulation, a discontinuation, a safety notice. We do not publish paid reviews. If we ever use affiliate links, they will be disclosed clearly in the article where they appear.

Firearms coverage

We cover firearms as a matter of law, policy, and safety: legislation, court rulings, agency actions, method-of-take rules, and safe storage. We do not publish instructions for building, modifying, or enhancing firearms, and we do not publish content promoting the sale of firearms, ammunition, or components.

Use of AI tools

Some articles are researched or drafted with the assistance of AI tools. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by a person before publication, and a person is accountable for it by name. Where AI assistance was used in drafting, the article says so.

Bylines

Every article carries the name of a real person who is responsible for it. We do not publish under pseudonyms, invented personas, or an “Admin” byline.
