We would rather be corrected than be wrong. This page explains how to report an error and what we do about it.

How to report an error

Email info@the4x4life.com with the article title or link, the specific statement you believe is inaccurate, and — if you have one — the source that shows the correct information. Corrections sent this way go straight to the editor.

How we respond

We aim to acknowledge every correction request within two business days. If we can verify the error, we fix it promptly. If we cannot verify it, or if we conclude the original was accurate, we will tell you why.

How corrections appear

  • Factual corrections. When we correct a material factual error, we fix the text and add a dated note at the bottom of the article describing what was wrong and what changed. We do not quietly edit and move on.
  • Clarifications. When something was accurate but unclear or incomplete, we revise it and add a dated clarification note.
  • Minor fixes. Typos, broken links, and formatting errors are fixed without a note, because nothing substantive changes.
  • Updates. When a story changes because circumstances changed — a rule takes effect, a bill dies, a recall expands — we add a dated update rather than rewriting history.

Retractions

If an article turns out to be wrong in a way that cannot be fixed by correcting individual statements, we retract it. Retracted articles stay online with a clear retraction notice at the top explaining what happened, rather than being deleted.

Accountability

Every article carries a named byline, and that person is responsible for its accuracy.
